Get your bag packed......

Deb Crandall October 19, 2006 at 07:44 AM CDT It's Thursday morning... This is your last full day in Nebraska. I know you have many emotions, but to be coming home has got to be the best feeling. Home to your awaiting cats and dog and a wonderful loving husband. All of your friends want you to know we will still be there to continue to support you. You continue to be a priority in our thoughts and prayers. Missy you have done a great job keeping us updated with the web page and the phone calls. Take some time for yourself, we love you and are so proud of you. Justin and Dennis enjoy having your wife and mom back with you....Charly.... have a safe trip back to MO, enjoy the view, the leaves are starting to change and it should be a fun ride home... See you on Sunday.. Much love to you... Curt-n-Deb

Got your message this morning.

Rose Wheeler October 18, 2006 at 04:13 PM CDT Was glad to hear from you. I spent a quiet birthday - just worked and went home to play with the dog. I did talk to all of my sons yesterday and they said to tell you "great job". Denver got dumped on this morning - they got about a foot of snow but it will probably be gone in a couple of days. Craig is in California and he was planning to go whale watching today. Corey is celebrating his 30th today and he told me he had quit smoking. That was wonderful news. He said to tell you that he would see you when you get home. Don't forget that we have a spa date when you get home. It good for a facial, massage, manicure and pedicure, then we'll go out to eat. So save your strength. Love Rosie

PROGRESS

Linda Shelley-Smith October 17, 2006 at 10:00 PM CDT One day at a time...one of my favorite hymns. Praying for you and have you on my church's PRAYER LIST. Linda SHELLEY Smith

Cooking?

Pamela Luman October 17, 2006 at 08:39 PM CDT Charlynn, I don't know about the cooking....once you start back you will have to keep it up!!! This is great, you cook and go to the mall all the same day. I think you have made a complete recovery! Cooking, shopping and making beauty appointments. Sounds like the Charlynn I know. I have really enjoyed the care pages and being able to know how you are doing and what you are doing. This must be an awesome place. Missy thank you for keeping us informed. When you get back home I will give you all a call after you have settled down and rested. You all take care and keep up the good work. Pam and Ray

Well Wishes

Lavonna Peterson October 17, 2006 at 01:48 PM CDT Charlynn, We missed you during the reunion meetings but were kept informed by Charles. I do hope you are doing well and that you will soon be feeling the very best possible. Please keep us informed! I care and I do wish you the very very best. Lavonna Peterson

Miss ya already

Brandi Hernandez October 17, 2006 at 01:18 PM CDT Well we all miss you already even though we just saw you yesterday. I just wish we could have been there to see you walk without any assistance, I bet that was an awesome sight. I'm glad dad was there to witness it. The girls are already wanting to pack for Thanksgiving, Randy and I got to talking about it and we were going to wait until Wednesday to come because he had to work. But I asked him, why do we have to wait, the girls are out of school and I'm not working so we can go ahead and come up and he can come up later. Sounds like a plan to me!! We really enjoyed our weekend and I haven't seen Miranda smile that big in a long time. We love you so much and are so glad that things are going to get back to somewhat normal! Now you need to work on your stamina so we can start having our morning chats again. Well, chats, hour long conversations, same thing right! Anyway, I am just so proud of you and nobody could be more of an inspiration in my life than you! I love you, Brandil Oh, by the way, Debbie:

1. Both Randy and I wore our MU shirt while in Nebraska and nobody messed with us. But of course I have my mothers famous look that tells you, you better back off or your going to get hurt!!!!

2. I don't know what your "baking", but if it's what I think it is, you need to bring it to my mom and dad's house on November 20th, not October 20th. That's when I'll be there!!!!!!! HE HE HE!!!!! Love ya!

Going to Kansas City

Frank Luppens October 17, 2006 at 10:33 AM CDT Charlynn: So, you're going to Kansas City, Kansas City here I come, they have crazy little women there and Charlynn is the one. I'm glad to hear you're making the great escape... I wish I could be there to greet you, but it's not going to happen. Call me when you get home and let me know how things are going. It will be good to talk to you. I hope you are keeping Kenny and the girls, and the grandchildren in line. They were getting kind of out of control while you were sleeping, and there was no way anyone but you could have straightened them out. Anyway, I have to go now. I just wanted to put one last message in before the site was shut down. Missy has all of my email addresses so don't hesitate to write me when you get home. Cya, Love, Frank

Your Coming Home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Linda Wallace October 17, 2006 at 08:27 AM CDT Char, I love the "CarePages". It keeps us all right there with you and you have to know we are all awaiting your return home to Arrowhead... I have my walking shoes warmed up and when you feel like it we can take some evening walks if you would like.....I'll leave Sammie at home....Crazy dog....Anyway, we are all excited, but I am sure you are beyond being excited to come home.....I'll stop by sometime this weekend it say Hi. Are you craving anything "Home-cooked"? Just let me know and we'll stir it up for you...Have a safe trip back... Love, Bill and Linda

FINALLY!

Michelle Dortch October 17, 2006 at 07:43 AM CDT John talked to Kenny and he said you would be coming home a week earlier than expected! Finally the neighborhood returns to normal. We took Kenny over some stew I made Sunday and white bean chili John made last night for him to have this week to eat. We are trying to keep up his three squares a day! I know he can't wait to get you home. Angie spent some time loving up the cats last night. I am sure they will not get off your lap when you get there. Your progress has been amazing and we can't wait to see you. I know you will only continue to get better and having the comfort of your own home will only speed up that process I am sure. Take Care and see you soon!

Good News!

Pamela Luman October 16, 2006 at 08:24 PM CDT Hi Charlynn and Missy, This is good news that you will be coming home on Friday. From the way Missy talks I bet you could walk home. You have done so well in such a short time. I know short time for me but you have excelled I am sure! I like the idea that you are already making an appointment for beauty!! I know all of you and your families have worked so hard for this day to come. We are so excited for you. Take care and we will keep you all in our prayers. Pam and Ray

GREAT PROGRESS

Cheryl Collins October 16, 2006 at 10:53 AM CDT Hi there! This is Cheryl(Voorhees)Collins, class of 62. So glad to hear how well you are progressing. Wish you could have been at the Reunion as it was pretty darn good! I know you will be at the next one in three years and having a great time. Keep up the good work and get back to the KC area soon. I keep you in my prayers, Cheryl Collins

Glad To Hear You Are Improving

Lynette Burkhart October 15, 2006 at 08:26 AM CDT Charlynn, I hadn't heard anything since early September when Buddy emailed me. Right after that I took my husband, Walter, to Houston to a clinic where we thought he could get some help with his cancer. However, after three days and even though he showed a slight increase in strength, the cancer took over and he passed away September 17. I know how hard it is for you and your family, going through rehab and I really feel for you. Walter had brain surgery to remove a malignant tumor in January and was paralyzed on his left side. It took a lot of therapy but most of his movement came back but the cancer had spread to his stomach. It's good to know you have Kenny and the girls to be with you and give you support. Keep up the good work and keep getting stronger! My prayers will include you. Lynette Beck Burkhart lynette@hughes.net

Greetings

Nancy Cook October 14, 2006 at 03:13 PM CDT Hi, Charlynn I have been getting updates from Michelle on your condition. Sounds like you have been making some remarkable progress. At every Garden Club meeting, Sue Sailors tells how you are doing. We miss you. Two months ago we went to the Overland Park Arboretum. It was a beautiful place. This month is at the Yacht Club. I don't know what the subject is but we will be installing plaques in the new landscaping for Craig Brown, Suzanne Brown's son, and Delta Richardson. We are late getting this done but better late than never. From my house, your yard looks good. It lacks your touch, though. I,m sure Ken is meeting himself coming and going. Keep up the good work and we will be glad to see you home later this month. Love to you and Ken and your family, Nancy and Dick

We need an update on Charylnn

Larkin Dowden October 12, 2006 at 06:50 PM CDT Hey Melissa & Charylnn, Everybody is waiting for another update to find out what new amazing things Charylnn is doing. Everyone at work sends their love & prayers and ask me daily if I have heard any updates. I hope & Pray everything is going better than expected. Hey Mo get busy with the updates. As always In His Love ----Larkin & Kathy------

Good progress!

Chris Ormsbee-Rohlfs October 12, 2006 at 04:51 PM CDT So glad to hear the good progress. I am learning more about rehabilition therapies at school. It is a lot of hard work so stay strong. Take care! Chris (Ormsbee) Rohlfs

Nice Talking With You

Deb Crandall October 11, 2006 at 10:57 PM CDT Hey Charly.... It was great talking to you last night and you were right about the jurisdicition thing...good call. By the way, Missy said you knew our phone number right off the top of your head...that's just not right, I can't even remember my phone number! But I guess that shows what great progress you are making. Make sure you don't wear your Tiger's shirt when you go out up there, you know how crazy Husker fans can be....Stay on top of things...Oh, by the way, we'll send you the latest "Buckner" article from the Examiner...I sure don't remember you getting on the front page of the paper while you were mayor....guess you just didn't try hard enough! Keep after it .... talk to you a little later this week. Love ya - Curt & Deb

Good news

Linda Brown October 11, 2006 at 01:50 PM CDT It seems like each new day is better than the last one. You have great family support, and I'm sure that is helping you through the healing process. I check the Carepage everyday and appreciate the up-dates. Lots of your "OLD" friends were asking about you at the reunion. I hope to see at a dinner soon. Stay tough, Linda Brown

message from neighbor Nancy Kneip

Nancy Kneip October 11, 2006 at 08:08 AM CDT We are all so excited about your progress, Charlynn! We hope and pray that you will, indeed, return home on the 27th. You'll will be so happy to be home . . . and just in time for the "trick or treaters". Dick and I are driving to Illinois this weekend to visit family, one night in Peoria, then 2 nights in Fulton-Morrison area. Haven't been back since Easter and decided we'd rather make the trip now instead of waiting for snowy/icky weather. How smart is THAT? The choice was either to drive the Dodge Dakota or the T-Bird. What a decision! (I hope we can cram all of our stuff into the Bird! If I can get my make-up in, and a book to read, I'll be happy.) We'll chat again when we get back. Keep up the good work. We think of you every single day!! Love ya, Dick & Nanc

Your news just gets better ! ! !

Larkin Dowden October 10, 2006 at 06:40 PM CDT Hey Melissa & Charlynn, I was hoping you would be able to update the site tonight. I have been printing out the updates and sharing them with everyone at work. Everybody has been asking me how Charlynn is doing. Charlynn you are doing so good and getting stronger day by day. What a fighter! With all the great things you are doing bet Madonna will be throwing you out soon and sending you home (ha, ha). As always Kathy & I send our Love & Prayers to you. -----Larkin & Kathy------

Pretty good day?

Sara Rodriguez October 10, 2006 at 11:35 AM CDT I will have to agree with Missy... that is unbelieveable. Keep up the wonderful progress... you'll have everyone back in line by Christmas!!! Go Chiefs! And... I gotta say it... ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!!! Sara :)

Ain't No Thing

Frank Luppens October 10, 2006 at 09:07 AM CDT Charlynn: What are you going to do, walk back to KC? It's good to hear you're doing so well. Now, when are you getting out? The warm weather has gone away, to come back some other day! We have been getting rain and little snow up here, but it looks like winter is getting close. Craig, Chad, and I went up to Boulder last Friday to a little French Quarters Mall that they have up there... CU was having their Homecoming, so there were a lot of people out and about. There were bands and musicians out on the sidewalk playing and people dancing and walking about. Also, there were a lot of nice looking WOMEN too!!! Anyway we all had fun and watch the Yankee's and Tiger's playoff game. Also, you’re going to have stop cheering for the Cornhuskers it's not helping our cause… Missouri 6 & 0. YEAH! Craig is leaving for California today. I have some new furniture coming today (sofa and a recliner) so I will have something to sit on now to be a little bit more comfortable. Now all I need is my bedroom set out here and I will be good to go. But really Charlynn, I had no doubt at any time that you couldn’t lick this crisis. As stubborn and strong willed as you are, I knew all you needed was slither of light and you would get through it. And thanks be to God!!! Love, Frank

Hi neighbor!

Joye Moore October 09, 2006 at 01:42 PM CDT Just wanted to send you a note to let you know that you are in my daily prayers. Your progress sounds great. Keep up the good work. Keep up the hard work

Joan Brown October 06, 2006 at 08:31 AM CDT We all appreciate the time your daughter is taking to keep us updated on how things are going. We are all praying for you, and think of you daily. Just reading about the therapy makes me tired. I am sure it is difficult at times. You are an old east side girl, and I know you can do it. Joan Brown

Good Morning

Charles Luppens October 06, 2006 at 06:16 AM CDT Glad to hear the good news and see the great recovery that you're making. Charlynn sounds like you're kicking butt and showing them how stong you are. Keep up the good progress. Our Love and prayers are with you. We'll continue to watch your success. Love Buddy & Mary

Pretty good day??????

Pamela Luman October 05, 2006 at 09:03 PM CDT Charlynn and Missy, I am with Missy this was an awesome day!!! You are doing so good. All the prayers and hard work are paying off. Soon you will be able to come down here.....no more just passing thru....and go to our new mall with me. It just opened this week and I had to visit it today. Dillard had a discount coupon that you scratch off. So I am thinking it doesn't get any better than this. Do scratch offs and shop!!!! You girls keep up the good work. In our hearts and prayers, Pam and Ray

You are Awesome!!

Terry Stapleton October 05, 2006 at 07:53 PM CDT What fantastic progress you are making!! We are so happy and so proud of you! Can't wait to see you when you get home! What an inspiration you are for everyone! We continue to keep you and the family in our thoughts and prayers! You are all so strong! Love You, Marshall & Terry

You are AWESOME!!!

Mary McDaniel October 05, 2006 at 07:17 PM CDT At the rate you are going the only thing you'll need a cane for when you get home is keeping Kenny in line! It's so exciting to read the updates each day. You are making the most of each day and we can see how far it's gotten you. Lots of lessons for the rest of us to learn. We continue to lift you and your family up in prayer. We are rejoicing alot too!! =) Have a wonderful weekend. Sounds like Shelly is so anxious to get there to see her Momma. Brandi too! You guys are great! Love, Mary E

AMAZING..... Atta Girl

Deb Crandall October 05, 2006 at 07:14 PM CDT Each and every day your updates are better and better. You are doing such a good job. Coming home with a cane, that is great. You are doing an awsome job. Anybody that knows you, knows that you don't do anything half way... Its all the way. Kudos to you, and Missy for her great support. Kenny and Shelley enjoy the brownies. Each of you be safe in your travels. Much love to you all, we are so proud of each of you. Curt-n-Deb

That cane could be a deadly weapon!

Michelle Dortch October 05, 2006 at 07:09 PM CDT The true motivation for the cane is for the ability to reach across and bop someone on the head when we are all in one of our classic arguments. Can I borrow it when you are finished with it as well! Well I am sitting in the hospital with Rachel. She had her appendectomy today. She is sore but doing well. Two down two to go. I thought about just going ahead and bringing in Angella and Sarah and asking for a group rate since the rate we are going 6 months from now I will be sitting here with one of the other two! I have to fly out to Chicago early in the a.m. so I spent last night with Rachel since they kept her overnight last night as well and tonight John get's overnight duty. It will be good for him. Your recovery continues to amaze all of us and an inspiration to everyone. You and Kenny have such a wonderful life and many more years of happiness to come. It gives everyone pause to appreciate the past present and future! We love you and continue to have you in our prayers. We all have a void in our lives right now without you!

Hello Charlynn!

Linda-Bob Pottberg October 05, 2006 at 06:24 PM CDT You have always been an amazing woman, not letting anything get in your way. Missy is doing an extremely great job in reporting your efforts, that I feel we are almost there watching you. Rob and I are now home from Vegas...we came home ahead of the game. Lehmann and I got food posioning and were sick, but at least we made $$ before then so we didn't get an opportunity to donate any of the $$ back. Now we can keep up again on your spectacular daily improvements. We are so proud of you and your continuing accomplishments! Rob just walked in the door and said to tell you to get home soon and that we love you! By for now, can't wait until tomorrow's progress report. Linda & Rob

WOW!!!

Marsha Wingo October 05, 2006 at 05:41 PM CDT You are doing an awesome job!! Sounds like you had more than just a pretty good day. Keep up the good work. It is great getting these updates everyday. Missy, you are doing a great job keeping us all informed. It won't be long and you both will be home. Have a good weekend with Kenny & Shelley. Joe & Marsha

Wow Kathy an I were so excited reading Melissa's update on all you had accomplished today. You are truly an amazing person. In His Love -----Larkin & Kathy-------

Hello Neighbor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Linda Wallace October 05, 2006 at 02:09 PM CDT Char, We just missed Kenny last night at AYC, but still heard from others on how well you are progressing...I hope all the well wishes from home are making you strong as well. Anyway....As you know, we are thinking of you all the time and wishing you the strength you need to continue to improve.... Love you, Bill, Linda & Sammie........

News from the Dortch's

Michelle Dortch October 03, 2006 at 07:10 PM CDT Hey Girl! Sounds like things are progressing rapidly. Things are quiet in the neighborhood. Kenny has been eating well the last few days thanks to my sudden impulse for domestic bliss. Chicken noodle soup from Sunday, Spaghetti from Monday and now we have a plate of meat loaf for him tomorrow. Oddly enough Kenny had mentioned to John that meat loaf was his favorite meal earlier today and when John came home I was making it so I guess he is in for a treat. Mine probably is not as good as yours however. Rachel is home. She may have to have an appendectomy. We are going through the same series of events we had with Elizabeth this past winter however Rachel has the pleasure of first having to have a colonoscopy on Thursday to rule out that part of her internal organs. Don't think she quite knows what she is getting in to. Sounds like the prep piece of drinking all that awful liquid is worse than the procedure itself. I swear, there is always something with these girls (right Missy!). Luckily this didn't start in until after Friday. She had to crown the new queen at the homecoming game Friday night. Sure glad Elizabeth and Sarah don't go to that school anymore. Elizabeth got one of the lead roles in the play at her school again. They are doing the Diary of Ann Frank. The play is November 17th and 18th. It sounds like it should be good. Well, better go and take care of my baby 19 year old daughter who is laying in my bed watching tv. No matter how old they are when they are sick they always want to lay beside Mom. We are all counting the days until you get home. The back yard has just not been the same without you. In fact Saturday night there were some people over watching the game (way to go Huskers) and I got bored and went in and went to bed. I need someone to help me pick on these men!!! God Bless and we love you!!

The Great Plains Minuscule

Frank Luppens October 03, 2006 at 09:12 AM CDT Morning Charlynn: Keep up the good work. Thanks Missy for all of the encouraging updates, and letting everyone know your mother's progress. It was hot out here this weekend, but now it's cooling down and autumn is taking hold with all of the trees changing colors. It's beautiful. I finally got my laundry done this weekend while watching the Tigers beat Colorado Buffalos, and the Chiefs beat the 49ners. The folks out here don't take kindly to a Mizzou and Chiefs fan. Oh Well!!! Thanks for the karma on the Cornhusker beating the Jayhawks... How bout those Tigers 5 & 0? I have been sitting out on the deck listening to the coyotes talk back and forth. The one to the east will cry out (kind of sounds like a baby crying), and then the one to the west will reply, and this keeps going on for the longest time. Boomer will listen for a bit, and then he starts barking at them, and then that stirs up the rest of the dogs in the neighborhood. We plan on going up in the mountains soon to see the fall colors, but don't know if we'll make it or not. Well, I have to go now. You keep up the good work and get home soon. Love, Frank It was the word of the day!

Thinking of you

Joan Brown October 03, 2006 at 08:31 AM CDT Charlynn, I am so glad to hear how well you are doing in rehab. This care page is great for all of us who are thinking of you and sending prayers your way. You are blessed to have such a great family to be with you. I am sure it means so much. Keep up the good work. Joan (Masovero) Brown

Classmate

Bill Shephard October 03, 2006 at 08:07 AM CDT Hi Charlynn, Just wanted to say Hi, and let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Sure am happy to see how much progress you are making. Keep up the hard work. Sure missed you at the reunion party this year. I sure hope you can get well and make our next reunion party. I am going to make a big push for our class and have the most grads at the next party. Again, I am so pleased to see all the progess you are making. Keep up all the hard work and hope to see you soon. Bill Shephard 64

Hey Momma

Good morning/afternoon

Pamela Luman October 02, 2006 at 01:18 PM CDT Hi Charlynn and Missy, I hope you all are having a good day. It is so hot here..we thought for sure we were finished with the hot weather but I guess not. I am ready for fall and winter as these are my favorite times of the year. I just got off the phone with Karen and she said to tell you hello and she is thinking about you all. I sent her your CarePage but she hasn't got it working yet. She said to let you know that she is not too literate on the computer but she is still working on it!!! I hope you have gotten over your sick stomach and are feeling much better. You all take care and I hope you have a good day. In our hearts and prayers, Pam and Ray

Hey kiddo

Deb Crandall September 29, 2006 at 09:53 PM CDT Sorry to hear of your upset stomach, hopefully they will find the problem soon. I'm sure Missy did a great job of helping, not everyone has the stomach for that... Kenny don't fight Charlynn for the trash can. Hang in there I know you can do it... So glad that you are downstairs.. One step closer to getting home. Much love to you both... Have a relaxing weekend.... Curt-n-Deb

That's wonderful!!!:) So, if you keep up this good work, when will you be able to come home? Chad and I are going to be getting a washer and dryer this weekend, and then we thought about going up to Bolder to see the sites. So, when are you and the family going to come out and go skiing with me? (LOL) Well, I have to go now. You keep up the good work and show everybody that stubborn streak we all know you have. Talk to you later. Love Frank P.S. By the way Guten Morgan means Good Morning in German:)

Thinking of You

Brandi Hernandez September 27, 2006 at 09:47 PM CDT Hey Momma, Sorry we didn't call you this evening, but we will call you tommorow. Emmy has a big paper due on Friday and we were working on that. Everything is good here, the girls are wild as ever. I am so proud of you on your progress. You never cease to amaze me. You are so strong and courageous. I knew the day you woke up that you were going to fight your way back 100%. You know how everybody always teases us about being just alike, I could only wish that I turn out to be as good a person as you are. With all your strength, determination, and will power; not to mention your unconditional love, shining spirit, and the ability to fight with me better than anyone I know. No, seriously, you are an inspiration to me and I love you so much. I know you did not do it on your own, but I thank you for fighting back, and coming back to us to continue all of the happy memories in our lives. You are my hero and by far the best mother a child could ever have. I just hope I can do as good of a job with my 3 daughters as you did with your 3 daughters. I love you. Talk to you tommorow.

Just Say No

Deb Crandall September 27, 2006 at 07:53 PM CDT CHARLYNN - you have got to fight the "husker" messages....remember, Just Say No.....keep repeating Huskers suck ,Tigers are good....Huskers suck, Tigers are good....we know you can do it! You keep up the good work! Love Ya - Curt

Love and Prayers from Missouri

Charles Luppens September 27, 2006 at 05:39 PM CDT Hello Charlynn We miss seeing you, but are very thankful for all the positive news on your rehabilitation. Fall is here and we are looking forward to our vacation at Pomme de Terre. Everybody at East High and the Reunion Committee ask about you all the time, and I will pass on the news reports to them. We will continue to pray for your speedy recovery. In Nebraska they don't use toilet paper, they use Corn Cobbs. So please be careful. Love Buddy and Mary

Greetings from Winnebago!

Michelle Dortch September 27, 2006 at 04:47 PM CDT I don't know if you realize but you are probably getting subliminal messages the entire time saying - "you are now a husker fan - you are now a husker fan". Kenny is going to feel outnumbered the next time we are all together watching the Missouri versus Nebraska football game and he finds out you are not mysteriously chearing for the Big Red! Sounds like you continue to make amazing progress. Take Care and we will see you soon! John and Michelle

Sending Love from Riverside

Mary McDaniel September 27, 2006 at 02:54 PM CDT Charlynn, I remember being a little girl and seeing you on your wedding day. I wanted to be just like you. Over the years you have inspired me in many different ways. I will admit I was afraid we were going to lose you a few weeks ago, but I should've never doubted that this incredible, strong, determined woman I've known since I was about 7 would make such a come back. You continue to inspire me, more than ever. You and your family are amazing. I am in awe of the love, compassion, strength, and closeness you, Kenny, and the girls share. I wish we could be there with you. I'm so very thankful for the time we spent together in February. God is so good. I continue to pray each day finds you stronger than the day before. Big Hugs!!! Love, Mary E

Love from the Stapletons

Terry Stapleton September 27, 2006 at 10:39 AM CDT Dearest Charlynn, We were so shocked and saddened to hear of your illness. I am so glad Melissa set up this care page as I have been anxious to talk to you. Many, many prayers have been sent on your behalf and they seem to be working! You apparently are making terrific progress! That's no surprise, as we know how strong you are! Keep up the good work! The prayers will continue, not only for you, but for the whole family. We know that all of you need strength to get thru this and God will provide it! Now I can stop pestering Sara to see if she's heard anything! I can see for myself! We love you and pray for your speedy recovery! Love to Kenny and the Girls! Marshall, Terry & the "Gang"

Hey Cornhusker

Frank Luppens September 26, 2006 at 09:04 AM CDT Morning Charlynn! How are you doing this morning? I haven't seen an update of your progress in a couple of days, Missy needs to get busy. Bloomfield is beautiful with the mountains in the back ground. And, we can see the snow Cap Mountains off in the distance. The people are really nice out here and the whether where we're at has been in the 60's and 70's. How is Kenny doing? I haven't heard from him in a while. Is Shelly being good? Well, I need to get to busy now. Keep up the good work, and I expect to hear from you soon. My email address is fluppens@gmail.com, or at work is Frank.Luppens@Level3.com. Let's see if you can send me a message. Love you, Frank

Great News

Bruce Arndt September 26, 2006 at 05:44 AM CDT Hi Charlynn and Family, I just think it is great how well you are doing. If anyone can handle this I KNOW you can. I have been through this with my Mom and just keep working and all should be better in time. Please know that I am praying for your speedy return home to KC. All my best, Bruce

Hooray for you, Charlynn !

Linda-Bob Pottberg September 25, 2006 at 10:22 PM CDT My, my, it's great to hear you are bouncing back ! We are so proud of you working your way to recovery. God is on your side and we are too. We wanted to come and see you last weekend but we knew you were going to have plenty of other friends and family there. You are always in our hearts and prayers. After all, we've came through many trials and tribulations together in our over 30 years of friendship. We'll always be together in spirit and hearts. Since we couldn't come to see you, we had an overnight at Jim & Jan's in Oklahoma. They send their love to you as well, and you tell Kenny "hi" from them also. This was the first time we saw Jim since he backed off that 10' wall. God also gave him another chance. He's back at work and goes for walks every morning. Jan's in the process of decorating again. She's alot like you in that both of you work wonders when it come's to making your homes beautiful! Well, you are probably tired from reading so I'll continue tomorrow. Love, Linda (and Robert too).

From all of your girls in LA

Brandi Hernandez September 25, 2006 at 08:32 PM CDT Hey Momma, I hope you feel better tommorow so we can talk longer. I am so proud of you for all of the progress you have been making these last couple of weeks. I can't wait until the 13th when we all get to finally come and see you. The girls are so excited! Kaycee said she is going to hug you so tight you probably won't be able to breathe. Miranda is just ready to see your face, she really wanted to see you in the hospital. She was pretty upset that she couldn't. So she is looking forward to the trip. Emmy is ready too, she wants to give you lots of hugs and kisses. Everything is good here, well as good as Louisiana can be. Randy has one more race and then we're done for the season, Thank God. I am substituting at all of the Haughton schools, yeah, I've lost my mind. I'm still working on my machine so I can get back into school and get done. I'm ready for you to be better and at home so I can talk to you everyday like we used to. I love you so much and so do the girls - they said whooooooole bunches!!!!!!

Hello Friend

Pamela Luman September 25, 2006 at 07:08 PM CDT Charlynn, it is so good to be able to correspond with you thru e-mail. I was so excited today when I talked to Melissa and she had all this wonderful news for us. I burned the telephone lines up to let the Hahns know. The Morrisons are in Shreveport so Karen was to let them know. I just got your care page so I will forward on to them so they can send you messages also. It sounds like you are making great progress and like some of your friends have stated we would expect nothing else but the fighter in you to come out full force. You and your family have all been in our prayers and we see that many prayers have been answered. We will continue to ask God's blessings on you and your family for strength as you continue on your road to a complete recovery. Tell Kenny belated Happy Birthday from all of us and continue the good work. In our hearts and prayers, Pam and Ray

Update from the neighborhood

Michelle Dortch September 25, 2006 at 05:55 PM CDT Sure missed you this weekend. It was Mark File's 40th birthday party and Lester and John were their usual selves - no need to say anything more as you might guess. John will catch Kenny up with all that happened but it got a bit wild. We argued religion and politics and it just was not the same without you! The weather remains nice here so we are hoping you are home in time to enjoy at least a couple of nights out back before the tarps get put on. Your progress remains nothing less than a miracle. We hope to get up there in a few weeks as soon as we have a weekend with out basketball. Sarah has another tournament this weekend so maybe the following we can make it up. We sure do miss you and things are just not the same. Your animals are doing fine. God Bless and keep up the hard work!

Hello from Chris and Gary

Chris Yeoman September 25, 2006 at 05:22 PM CDT Hi Charlynn--we just wanted to let you know that we are praying for you and are so thankful to our gracious Lord for bringing you back to Kenny and the girls. We weren't able to talk with you when we visited in the hospital, but look forward to the day when we can catch up on all that has happened in the past years, we'll have lots of stories to share. Know that we have thought about you all everyday since you first went into the hospital and are thankful that you are doing so well and trying so hard. You will make it through all this and you have your loving and caring family there to encourage you all the way. Look forward to seeing you soon. Love.............Chris and Gary

Shelley

Shelley Smith September 25, 2006 at 04:25 PM CDT Hi Momma, I just wanted to check in with you this afternoon and see how your day has been. These last six weeks have been so hard because I am used to talking to you every day and I have not been able to do that. If I was having a bad day or got stressed out I could always call and talk to you and my day would be better. I am looking forward to Missy posting your next update and I will talk to you tonight. I love you, Shelley

GLAD YOUR HAVING SUCH A GOOD DAY LIL' SIS

Rose Wheeler September 22, 2006 at 09:10 PM CDT It was great to get such a good report on your progress today. I will be thinking of you and the family this weekend. I forgot to tell Kenny Happy Birthday. I won't be up this week end. I need to take a break after my day trip last week end but I'll try to get up next Sunday. Missy, I know Chris Yeoman and Kenda would like information on the care page. I don't know their e-mail addresses but I'll call them and get their information and e-mail it to you. Love ya. Rose

A note from your oldest

Shelley Smith September 22, 2006 at 04:31 PM CDT Hi Momma, I just wanted to send you a quik note and say hi and I love you. I will call you tonight when I get home and see you in the morning. I can't wait to get back there and see all the progress you have made over the last week. I knew you could do this because you are a strong woman and you are my strength. Love you whole bunches Shelley.

We miss you!

Tammy Ham September 22, 2006 at 11:00 AM CDT Dear Char: I'm so glad to hear that you are doing well. We understand that the therapy is grueling but I know that if anyone can handle it... you can! Hang in there. It's about time to close the pool which makes us really cranky!! Lester is on a mission to investigate a pool enclosure for the winter. You need to come home quickly just to watch the HOA battle. We miss you and can't wait for the group to sit out back at the Dortch's bar again! Tammy

Huck and Tom's is just not the same without you.....

Michelle Dortch September 22, 2006 at 09:57 AM CDT We have sure missed you. It is just not the same sitting out back without you. We have your seat saved! John cut the tree down right behind the bar and has built a "dry bar" on top of the tree stump. Sad, but true. Next step is ordering the tarps so weather won't drive us out. The TV got put to good use as John sat out there last Saturday from 9:30 until midnight watching football. I I guess he figures he will get in less trouble if he is outside rather than inside wasting away his day. I did draw the line when he wanted to put one of the loungers behind the bar so he could take a nap! Keep up the hard work. I know it can't be easy but you have already fought through the hardest part of this ordeal whether you realize it or not. We continue to all pray for your recovery and quick return home. God did not bring you this far for nothing! We love you and think of you all of the time. Sarah has been sitting with the cats while she does her homework at night so they are getting lots of attention. She also goes out and is spending time with the dog. Take care and we will hopefully see you soon.

Good Morning

Deb Crandall September 22, 2006 at 07:54 AM CDT A quik good morning and have a great productive day... You are in our thoughts.... Enjoy your day with both Missy and Kenny.... See you tomorrow......Curt said to tell you Spidermans watching you......our love and prayers.... Curt-n-Deb

Atta Girl

Deb Crandall September 21, 2006 at 10:18 PM CDT So glad to hear of your improvements...We are so proud of you.... You are a fighter... We love you very much.... We are excited to see you this weekend. You have the love, support and prayers of your family and so many friends. Much love to you.....Curt-n-Deb

We're so excited Charlynn!

Larkin Dowden September 21, 2006 at 08:26 PM CDT Charlynn we are so excited that you are doing better and getting stronger by the day. The Lord has sure had His healing hand on you and is Blessing you & the family to notches unknown. I can't even begin to tell you how excited Kathy & I are at the progress you're making, hang in there and keep the faith. You will constantly be in out hearts & Prayers along the whole Smith Clan. ------Larkin & Kathy-------

Way to Go, Charlynn!

Linda-Bob Pottberg September 21, 2006 at 06:41 PM CDT Hi Charlynn, This is an exciting new adventure to get to communicate to you through a hospital website. We talked with Kenny this afternoon and he is very pleased with your progress. Also, he is looking forward to coming up tomorrow to be with you over the weekend. You are so fortunate to have a man who is really, really in love with you! It's good to have Missy there as I wouldn't understand the first thing about setting up one of these message boards. My brain will stay in the past decades mode - I try to get along wtih the computer but sometimes I could be like the Garfield cartoon years ago where he was taking a chain saw to the computer. Well you know how I am! Walk a lot for us. We hope to see you soon! Love Linda & Robert
